A MULTIDISCIPLINARY APPROACH TO CHILDHOOD OBESITY MANAGEMENT.

Childhood obesity is a risk factor for the early development of chronic diseases such as type 2 diabetes, hypertension, and dyslipidemia, which pose a significant challenge to current public health. In this context, this study aimed to analyze, using the PRISMA strategy, the multidisciplinary management of this condition by comparing obese pediatric patients. The reviewed studies demonstrate that interventions in different settings such as primary care, the family environment, childcare centers, and the use of digital technology are effective in promoting healthy eating habits and reducing the risk of overweight and childhood obesity, although their long-term effects remain uncertain. Furthermore, early intervention strategies, exemplified by the Starting Early Program and the Greenlight Program, underscore the importance of nutritional education and parental support in preventing childhood overweight, alongside the relevance of interventions implemented in daycare centers and schools. Consequently, this article highlights the importance of deepening the understanding of the interdisciplinary approach in the management of childhood obesity.
