Blockchain In Health Data Management: A Scientometric Analysis

The aim was to carry out a scientometric analysis of collaboration and citation networks between authors, identifying the main influential researchers, co-authorship patterns and the temporal evolution of publications in the field of Blockchain use in health data management. Data was collected from OpenAlex, filtering the type of document “scientific articles” and the period between 2008 and 2024. VOSviewer software was used to draw up maps of co-authorship, citations, scientific production and main keywords. The analysis also included the impact factor and thematic trends. The results indicate a significant growth in Blockchain research from 2020 onwards, with an emphasis on health records management, data security and interoperability. Authors such as Khaled Salah and Aruna Seneviratne were identified as central researchers in this area, although the co-authorship network is still fragmented, reflecting the emerging stage of the field. It is concluded that Blockchain has significant potential to improve health data management, but requires greater scientific collaboration and empirical validation.
